Proximity to Spain: Morocco is located only a few kilometers from Spain (Strait of Gibraltar). As a result, there are many Spanish influences (culture, food, language).
Spanish is indeed spoken: especially in the north (e.g. Tangier or Tetouan) Spanish is historically widespread.
